PRAVALESCU SHOP

Honoured with a nomination for Best Interior Design of a Public Space at the Elle Decoration Awards 2019, our project showcases a high-quality traditional grocery shop, located in a historical building in the heart of Bucharest. 

Upon entering, guests are greeted by a live-preparation area where in-house products are carefully crafted by local food artisans. On either side of this space, two imposing entrance frames invite the customers into the shopping areas. 

Our aim was to create a lively design, marked by a bold palette of colours that invigorates the senses. Red accents and light blue hues create a dynamic atmosphere, while the black-and-white mosaic flooring adds a touch of retro allure. 

We have paid meticulous attention to preserving and highlighting the building’s historical features, ensuring that the charm of the past harmoniously blends into the new concept of the shop. 

The original ceilings were brought back to life as we carefully removed the existing dark paint covering them, revealing the natural beauty of the rustic hardwood texture.

With thoughtful design choices, our goal was to enhance the character and authenticity of the space, bringing back the traditional experience of grocery shopping in a contemporary setting. In addition, this shop features an on-site restaurant with farm-to-table dishes, specializing in crafting delicious meals made from the very ingredients available for purchase.
